And MUCH MUCH MORE!

The Bush Book is a diary formulated bind for adventurers, nature lovers, environmentalists, conservationists, game rangers, field guides, wildlife fanatics, bush junkies, traveler's, tourists on safari, zoologists, biologists, hikers, bird enthusiasts, explorers, pioneers, expeditioners, globe trotters and any environmentalist who aims on making a significant impact on this planet.

As custodians it is our duty to keep our world thriving with the delicate balance between carnivores, herbivores, omnivores, fauna, flora, marine, ocean and land care.

With this Bush Book you can help document issues that others may not be privy to and by journalising your experiences for others to read, see or learn from, we can all work together for the greater good of mankind.

The proceeds of this journal will go towards the infrastructure and resources needed to reintroduce elephants into the Knysna forest, a Project initiated by concerned environmentalists that aim in giving the last standing Knysna Elephant the company she not only needs, but also deserves after being left on her own for almost a decade. Read more about the project on page 10.

What will you find inside?

In amongst your personal notes, schedules and other itineraries, you will find stories to keep you occupied through those waiting periods at the water holes, in your tent or those midday lulls when the animal kingdom escapes the heat. These stories are brought to you by the author who has traveled extensively throughout Africa, researching, exploring and adventuring.

About

Ryan Davy spent the first part of his film making career as a wildlife film maker and has left several films in his wake having filmed documentaries such as 'Hunted By A Myth', 'Blood Ties', 'Tender Killers' and 'The Kings Pride, which were all filmed under the wing of National Geographic, Discovery Channel, and Nat Geo Wild. Self-made humanitarian projects have also left their mark in the independent realm.

About the Author

Ryan's skills as a Pilot, Cinematographer and Anti-Poaching Ranger would serve well in reality style documentaries. Ryan embarked on a self initiated film titled 'The Inner Core' which uncovered the truth behind the underground Rhino Horn trade. Ryan's unauthorised attempt to climb the highest mountain in the world also turned heads when his film 'The Man Who Stole Everest' revealed some unnerving facts and secrets about corrupt expeditions on Mount Everest, the most controversial mountain in the world. In addition,
Ryan has written, produced three full-length feature film thrillers (each gaining international distribution): 'Lords of Exile' 'The Parricidal Effect' and 'Ten Deaths Of Hamlet'. These are available on various streaming platforms including Amazon. One of Ryan's solo accomplishments is the tracking and filming of the extremely endangered and protected, never previously filmed, Himalayan wolf, which has become a documentary under the title 'The man who cried wolf' Another humanitarian project had Ryan sailing across the South Atlantic in an 84 foot sailing vessel collecting micro plastic samples and researching whale sharks and devil rays off the coast of St Helena island. The film is titled'Wakanui - Between The Ocean And The Deep Blue Sea'. Also available on amazon.Ryan is currently working on an environmental series called 'Mysterious Creatures' which put Ryan in the heart of South Africa's very own rainforest where he tracked and filmed the last standing Knysna elephant who roams on her own in the vast wilderness of Knysna. The 'Mysterious Creatures' series delves into the fragile, yet intricate dynamics of the social structure, emotions and behaviour of illusive and mysterious creatures around the world, and how human involvement influences their role on this planet.

Sue Tidwell's first night in a Tanzanian tent began with a prowling lion’s roar. Will the savage terrors open her eyes to an unseen world?

Sue Tidwell lived in awe of Africa’s extraordinary wildlife. After years spent appreciating the animals in her imagination, the tenderhearted American hated the idea of joining her husband's big game hunting safari. And getting attacked by blood-sucking tsetse flies the moment she stepped off the plane gave no hint of the mind-blowing change of perspective in her future…

With her initial animosity turning into curiosity as they breathlessly tracked dangerous beasts, Sue formed a surprising bond with their young, government-assigned game scout. And as she became entranced by the tales and wisdom from the Masimba Camp crew, she was humbled by the mystery of the vilified safari and the people who relied on it for survival.

Supplementing her own experiences on the elephant-rutted roads with local insights and scientific research into conservation efforts, Tidwell explores how her preconceived beliefs sluiced away under the deluge of reality. And with an evocative narrative peppered with self-deprecating humor, vivid imagery, and over ninety photos and illustrations, you’ll emerge forever changed by the truths this greenhorn found buried in a rugged and romantic landscape.

Cries of the Savanna is an unflinching and passionate memoir. If you like awe-inspiring adventures, truth revealed through laughter, and life being stranger than fiction, then you'll adore Sue Tidwell's brush with the wild.
